Ms. Pamela Wimberly
Biography
Pamela Wimberly began her teaching career in 2002 as a special education teacher in Clarksville, Tennessee. She embarked on her DoDEA career in 2005 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Over the next decade, she taught various grades, including second, fourth, and middle school, gaining a wealth of experience in both special and general education for K-8 students. During her teaching experience, Ms. Wimberly supported 21st-century teaching and learning practices, including preparing teachers for their transition into 21st-century buildings.
In 2016, Ms. Wimberly was appointed Assistant Principal at Ramstein Elementary School, becoming the first Special Education Assistant Principal in Germany. By 2020, she had moved to Ramstein Middle School. Her redesign of the special education program maximized student involvement in classroom instruction, leading to significant improvements in math and reading proficiency for students with disabilities. She provided ongoing community support, including spearheading a student mentoring program and the first complex-wide back-to-school event, both of which have taken root in the Ramstein complex community.
Ms. Wimberly holds dual certifications in general and special education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Education, focusing on Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education, from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. She also holds an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Special Education Leadership at the University of Maryland, with just one year remaining in her program.
Ms. Wimberly has a daughter and granddaughter residing in Virginia. She loves traveling, reading, and cherishing moments with her family and friends. She is thrilled to join the Vogelweh Elementary School family as the new principal and looks forward to collaborating with the staff, students, and families within this unique community.
